CELEBRATING TEA

Our very own Tea Master, Suz-Sensei, has been guiding our primary girls through the steps to a successful cuppa, teaching us all about the art of tea this term. Learning will culminate in a student-designed and led tea ceremony, replete with beautiful kyuusu, glass cups to watch our tea ‘dance’, wearing kimono and practising all those mindful ‘tea manners’ we’ve been learning.  Congratulations girls!

Ninjas Raid Watson

A spectacular evening ninja raid was executed in Watson recently. Donning imported Ninja costumes, we practised a range of animal-inspired stealthy ninja walking and balancing skills. We then led a ‘castle’ raid at a local playground, successfully crossing a ‘waterfall’, a ‘raging river’ and scaling ‘castle walls’ to subdue the enemy within.  Well done boys!

Our Ninjas Visit the Japanese Ambassador

Our Ninjas Visit the Japanese Ambassador

Our Ninjas enjoyed the Japanese Ambassador’s private garden on our end of year excursion to the Japanese Embassy. As well as learning about Japanese garden features, we were treated to displays that included traditional children’s toys & clothes and were even able to have some hands-on fun with some life-like models of Japanese food!  We all had a wonderful time and hope to repeat this popular adventure in the future.

Children’s Week Dickson Library Storytime

Learning Adventures ran a Kamishibai (‘story theatre’) and origami session as part of Children’s Week on October 24th.  The session was well attended, with 19 children and 13 carers attending.  We all enjoyed the story of ‘The Dragon’s Tears’, singing Happy Birthday and making origami dogs.

Dickson Family Teppanyaki Adventure

49 of us from the Majura Primary Program will be venturing out across this week and next to enjoy Teppanyaki at Wasabi Restaurant in Dickson, which has become an annual treat that the whole family can enjoy. This comes hot on the heels of our successful Movie Madness, and the ‘Running of the Ninjas’ event held last week, and we hope it will continue our series of ‘winter warmer’ events.
